Activity log
The activity log is the system's audit trail: who did what, to which record, and when. Open it from the sidebar (Setup section).
What is recorded
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Data changes | Create, update and delete actions on products, invoices, orders, customers, and other records — with the change details (before → after) shown per entry. |
| Sign-ins | Successful and failed logins, sign-outs. |
| Account events | Impersonation ("login as"), password resets, permission changes. |
| Two-factor events | Enrollment, verification, challenges. |
Each entry shows the actor (which user), the action, the affected entity, the timestamp and the change diff.
Where a change came from (Origin)
The Origin column tells you which page, tool or process made each change:
| Origin shows | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Products grid / Full product editor / Label maker / … | The admin page the user was on when the change was saved |
| Queue: \<task name> | A background queue task — and the Actor column shows the user who originally queued it, not the machine |
| Cron: \<worker> | The scheduled job that made the change |
| API: \<endpoint> | A public API call |
This makes it possible to answer "who changed this, from where" — for example a category change shows both the user that launched the Assign category tool and the queue task that applied it. (Entries logged before this column existed may show —.)
Using it
- Filter by date and by entity type to narrow the timeline.
- Open the archive view for older entries (the page marks that you're viewing the archive).
- Export to Excel for external review — capped at 50,000 rows per export.
- Sensitive values can be shown redacted.
Turning it on
Logging is configured per account from Setup › Accounts — the account's activity log configuration switches logging on and selects which components are recorded. Whether the log captures activity before login depends on that configuration.
The product editor also has its own per-product Activity log tab — a detailed table of everything involving that one product: field edits, stock levels per location, barcode / price rows, tags, and document lines. Each row shows when it happened, who did it, the event (what was created / updated / deleted) and the changes (field: before → after). Reference IDs are shown as names (location, shelf, tag, supplier), and the routine "stock row rewritten" entries of a normal save are collapsed into a single Stock level set row. The View all in Activity Log button opens the full log pre-filtered to that product.
